Egg Dissection

Unfortunately, our eggs did not hatch into chicks. However, we took this as a learning opportunity and we dissected each egg to see what happened inside.

We will try this once again in the spring, hoping for a better result the second time around!

Egg Update!

This week, we were once again able to have a closer look at our eggs, completely seeing the outline of the embryonic sacs that the chicks have been growing in. They should be hatching next week!

We took advantage of this snowy weather and had the chance to see some crystals up close!

“Look At My Window!”

The start of school year excitement is in full swing, especially in the block building area. One of the children at Burke Mountain Preschool built a very special window, proudly showing it off to his classmates!

Making Cream

During play with the moon flour (ice cream is what it became), Brianna asked if she could make some cream. She asked for very specific ingredients: oil, pepper, flour, milk and sugar. She didn’t quite make cream, but she sure had a lot of fun!

Moon Flour

We enjoyed making it, but it was even more fun to play with it!

Layering Liquids

The Before and After School Care kids enjoyed working on this science experiment!
